Slovak Envoy: China-Europe Trade Key to Global Stability

NINGBO – As Slovakia takes center stage at the fourth China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo, its top diplomat in Beijing emphasized the critical role of Sino-European cooperation in maintaining global trade equilibrium. Ambassador Peter Lizak inaugurated the Slovak National Pavilion on Thursday, spotlighting automotive innovation as a cornerstone of bilateral economic ties.

"Our automotive sector accounts for 40% of Slovakia's exports to China," Lizak told attendees, noting Chinese battery producer Gotion High-Tech's recent €1.2 billion investment in a Slovak factory. "This symbiosis demonstrates how technological collaboration can transcend geopolitical headwinds."

The remarks come amid ongoing EU investigations into Chinese electric vehicle subsidies. While acknowledging "healthy competition," the ambassador expressed confidence: "Through dialogue, we'll find solutions benefiting both European consumers and Chinese manufacturers."

Held in Zhejiang's port city of Ningbo, the expo features 2,100 exhibitors from 51 countries and regions. Slovakia's showcase includes VR demonstrations of 5G-enabled smart factories and sustainable mobility solutions – themes resonating with both business delegates and climate-conscious attendees.
