China Urges Global Action for Palestinian Statehood at UN Event

China has called for renewed international momentum to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, emphasizing the urgent need to implement a two-State solution. Speaking at a United Nations event marking Nakba Day—commemorating the displacement of Palestinians in 1948—Chinese Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Geng Shuang urged concrete steps toward establishing an independent Palestinian state.

"The international community must translate sympathy into action," Geng stated, stressing that a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital is "the foundation of lasting peace."

Geng reaffirmed China\u2019s commitment to multilateral efforts, vowing collaboration with "all peace-loving nations" to prevent future humanitarian crises. He framed the two-State solution as critical not only for regional stability but also for addressing historical injustices faced by Palestinians.

The remarks align with China\u2019s growing diplomatic engagement in Middle Eastern affairs, positioning itself as a proponent of what it describes as "equitable global governance."
