Tianjin welcomed delegates from Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states this week as the China-SCO Sustainable Development Industrial Investment Promotion Event began its three-day run. Marking the first preparatory activity for the upcoming SCO summit — set to take place in Tianjin this autumn — the gathering aims to accelerate industrial collaboration and sustainable economic strategies across Eurasia.
Koroteev Kirill, First Deputy General Manager of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Development Company, highlighted the event’s significance, calling it a “unique opportunity” to showcase investment facilities and partnerships. “This platform bridges innovation with action,” he told attendees during opening remarks.
The initiative focuses on advancing green energy, infrastructure modernization, and cross-border supply chain resilience. Analysts suggest it could pave the way for streamlined trade frameworks and technology transfers among SCO nations, which include economies such as India, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
With over 200 enterprises and policymakers participating, the event underscores Tianjin’s rising role as a hub for Eurasian connectivity. Observers anticipate its outcomes will shape discussions at the autumn summit, where leaders are expected to prioritize regional stability and post-pandemic economic recovery.
