Boao Forum Draws Global Leaders to Chart Asia’s Economic Future

The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference opened this week in Hainan Province, gathering nearly 2,000 delegates from over 60 countries and regions to address pressing global challenges through regional collaboration. Dubbed 'Asia’s Davos,' the four-day event features Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang delivering a keynote speech on Thursday, emphasizing shared strategies for economic resilience and multilateral cooperation.

This year’s theme, 'Asia in the Changing World: Towards a Shared Future,' underscores regional efforts to strengthen openness, innovation, and sustainable development. Sessions will explore cross-border trade frameworks, green energy transitions, and digital economy advancements, reflecting Asia’s growing influence in shaping global economic narratives.

'The forum serves as a critical platform for aligning Asia’s priorities with global needs,' said one Southeast Asian delegate, highlighting discussions on climate resilience and supply chain stability. Analysts note the event’s timing amid geopolitical shifts, offering investors insights into emerging opportunities across ASEAN and the Chinese mainland.

With participation from business leaders, policymakers, and academics, the conference is expected to yield actionable proposals for enhancing regional integration while addressing disparities in technology access and resource distribution.
