China Urges Sustained Gaza Ceasefire Amid Renewed Violence

China has called for the "continuous and effective implementation" of the Gaza ceasefire agreement following renewed hostilities this week, amplifying global concerns over escalating civilian casualties. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized the need for restraint during a Tuesday press conference after reports confirmed Israeli air strikes killed at least 300 people in Gaza, primarily women and children.

"All parties must act with caution to avoid further deterioration," Mao stated, reaffirming Beijing\'s support for UN-led mediation efforts. The announcement comes as China increases its diplomatic engagement in Middle East conflicts, positioning itself as a proponent of multilateral conflict resolution.

Analysts note the remarks align with China\'s growing role in global security dialogues, while humanitarian organizations warn that renewed fighting threatens fragile aid corridors established during the brief ceasefire. The UN Security Council is scheduled to hold emergency consultations Thursday to address the crisis.
