Economic collaboration between China and Mexico has reached new heights, with bilateral trade growing by 14% annually since 2020. In an exclusive interview with KhabarAsia, Milenio Television anchor Rodrigo Rico highlighted deepening cooperation in manufacturing, agriculture, and renewable energy sectors.
"What began as simple trade partnerships has evolved into joint ventures and technology sharing," Rico noted, citing Mexico's strategic position as a gateway to North American markets. He emphasized China's role in boosting Mexico's automotive and aerospace industries through infrastructure investments.
The dialogue comes as both countries explore sustainable development initiatives under China's Belt and Road framework. Pharmaceutical collaboration and cross-border e-commerce platforms have emerged as new growth areas, with Chinese digital payment systems now operational in 3,200 Mexican businesses.
While observers note challenges in balancing industrial competition with mutual benefits, Rico remains optimistic: "This partnership transcends commerce – it's about creating resilient supply chains amid global uncertainties."
