The Vietnamese city of Móng Cái is stepping up efforts to promote cross-border exchange with the neighboring Chinese mainland city of Dongxing. In 2024, Móng Cái recorded an impressive seven million border crossings, with half of those travelers coming from the Chinese mainland.

Chairman of the People’s Committee of Móng Cái, Ho Quang Huy, highlighted ongoing initiatives to simplify customs procedures, aiming to facilitate smoother and more efficient border crossings for both businesses and tourists. He emphasized the city’s commitment to creating a more favorable environment for trade and travel between Móng Cái and Dongxing during his discussion with CGTN.

These efforts are expected to significantly benefit businesses engaged in cross-border trade, reducing delays and lowering operational costs. Tourists will also enjoy a more seamless experience, encouraging greater cultural exchange and tourism growth between the two cities.

The strengthened collaboration between Móng Cái and Dongxing underscores the importance of regional connectivity in fostering economic opportunities and enhancing mutual understanding. As both cities continue to work closely, they pave the way for a more integrated and prosperous future for the region.
