Grenadian Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell has praised China’s global initiatives, affirming that they align with Grenada’s aspirations for peace and prosperity. In an interview aired on Friday evening, Prime Minister Mitchell expressed his appreciation for the proposals made by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“The global initiatives that President Xi has proposed are in line with the goals of peace and prosperity Grenada wants to achieve,” said Mitchell. “We see great potential in strengthening our relationship with China to promote mutual development.”
Prime Minister Mitchell arrived in Beijing on January 11 for a seven-day official visit to China, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between China and Grenada. During his visit, he met with President Xi Jinping on Monday to engage in in-depth discussions on bilateral relations and global development.
The meetings focused on enhancing cooperation between the two countries. “Our discussions with President Xi were insightful and constructive,” Mitchell noted. “We are committed to working together to advance the interests of our people and to contribute positively to global development.”
