China’s Rapid Response: Prefabricated Homes Assembled in Just Over 2 Minutes in Xizang

In the wake of a devastating earthquake that destroyed 56 homes in Ganden Village, Chamco Town, Dingri County, southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, a remarkable recovery effort is underway. The China Railway Group Limited (CREC) has mobilized to construct prefabricated houses with unprecedented speed, bringing hope and shelter to affected families.

At the resettlement site in Ganden, a total of 96 prefabricated houses have been assembled so far, with plans to build 1,300 such houses. Demonstrating incredible efficiency, construction teams have completed 300 houses within just two days. The fastest assembly time recorded for a single house is an astonishing 2 minutes and 7 seconds.

With the entire project expected to be completed within eight days, the swift construction not only showcases China’s rapid response capabilities but also brings much-needed relief to the residents of Ganden Village. “We are grateful for the timely support,” said a local resident. “Having a roof over our heads so quickly after the disaster gives us hope.”

The prefabricated houses provide immediate shelter and are a testament to modern construction techniques and coordination. The CREC’s efforts highlight the commitment to rebuilding communities and restoring normalcy in the aftermath of natural disasters.
