Former Egyptian Prime Minister Praises Belt and Road Initiative’s Impact on Egypt

In a recent interview with China Media Group, Essam Sharaf, the former Prime Minister of Egypt, lauded the significant positive changes that China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has brought to his country. He highlighted how the BRI has been instrumental in promoting common development, expanding cooperation, and enhancing people-to-people connections between Egypt and China.

Sharaf emphasized that China’s focus on empowering innovation and technology through collaboration has been a driving force behind these advancements. He described the BRI as the world’s largest international cooperation platform, noting its comprehensive approach that encompasses infrastructure development, cultural exchange, and connectivity.

“The Belt and Road Initiative has opened new horizons for Egypt,” Sharaf remarked. “It has not only improved our infrastructure but also fostered a deeper understanding and connection between our peoples.”

Since its inception, the BRI has aimed to build a modern Silk Road, enhancing trade and economic ties across Asia, Africa, and Europe. Egypt, strategically located at the crossroads of continents, has been a key partner in this global project.

Sharaf’s comments reflect the growing appreciation of the BRI’s role in fostering global cooperation and development. As more nations participate in the initiative, the shared benefits of innovation, technology exchange, and cultural understanding continue to emerge.
