In a recent interview with China Media Group aired on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi criticized the United States and other Western countries for what he described as their double standards regarding the Gaza conflict. Araghchi accused Western nations of turning a blind eye to Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and evading their legal and moral responsibilities.
“The West’s double standards are all too obvious,” Araghchi stated. “While they champion human rights and international law in rhetoric, they fail to hold Israel accountable for its actions against the Palestinian people.”
He emphasized Iran’s willingness to support any ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, provided that it is accepted by the Palestinians. “Our priority is the well-being and rights of the Palestinian people,” Araghchi noted. “We are open to supporting initiatives that bring peace and stability to the region, as long as they reflect the desires and interests of the Palestinians themselves.”
The Iranian foreign minister’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions and violence in the Gaza Strip, raising concerns over the humanitarian situation and the prospects for lasting peace in the region.
