Northwest China’s Ningxia Hit by Magnitude 4.8 Earthquake

A magnitude-4.8 earthquake struck Yongning County in northwest China’s Yinchuan city on January 2 at around 10 a.m., according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. The quake sent tremors through the region, prompting swift action from local authorities.

The earthquake’s epicenter was pinpointed at 38.4 degrees north latitude and 106.22 degrees east longitude, with a focal depth of approximately 10 kilometers. Residents reported feeling the ground shake, but no casualties have been reported so far.
