China Opposes U.S. Overstretching of National Security Concept

China has expressed firm opposition to what it describes as the United States’ overstretching of the national security concept, accusing Washington of hindering normal economic and trade exchanges and undermining the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains.

At a regular press briefing in Beijing on Friday, Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, addressed media inquiries regarding potential new U.S. regulations that could impose restrictions on Chinese drones. The proposed rules, under consideration by the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden, have raised concerns about further straining trade relations between the two countries.

“China always opposes the U.S. overstretching the concept of national security,” Mao Ning stated. “Such actions obstruct normal economic and trade exchanges and damage the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains.”

She emphasized that the U.S. should adopt a fair and non-discriminatory approach toward Chinese enterprises and desist from politicizing economic and trade issues.

China’s firm stance reflects its commitment to safeguarding its economic interests and promoting stability in global trade and supply chains.
