CPPCC National Committee member Cui Haiyang emphasized the vital role of multi-ethnic communities in strengthening social cohesion during a group interview ahead of the 14th CPPCC National Committee's closing session. As a scholar specializing in ethnic issues, Cui highlighted how shared spaces create opportunities for employment, education, and cross-cultural collaboration.
The Guizhou Minzu University vice president cited Shiguang Village as a model community, where relocated Bouyei, Han, Miao, and Tujia residents collaborate on agricultural work and share modern educational facilities. 'These interactions don't just preserve cultural traditions – they create new economic possibilities,' Cui noted, referencing Guizhou's 800 million tourist visits in 2025 boosted by ethnically diverse attractions like the Village Super League.
Cui, who belongs to the Korean ethnic group and works in southwest China, stressed that such integration aligns with national development goals. His remarks come as China continues to promote ethnic unity through grassroots initiatives and cultural preservation efforts.
