Business leaders from the Chinese mainland and the Taiwan region are set to convene in Nanjing next week for the 2025 Cross-Strait CEO Summit, marking a significant step in economic integration efforts. Scheduled for December 16-17, the event will focus on aligning Taiwan businesses with the mainland's upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) while strengthening industrial collaboration across the Taiwan Strait.
Building Bridges Through Business
With 800 participants expected – including entrepreneurs, experts, and council members – the summit aims to create new supply chain synergies. This comes as Fujian Province, a key hub for cross-strait exchanges, implements its fifth batch of measures to facilitate Taiwan business operations. The 12 new policies announced December 2 include tax service improvements, trade facilitation mechanisms, and support for expanding Taiwan's Sha County snack culture.
Groundwork for Growth
Since September 2023, Fujian has rolled out 74 measures across five phases to streamline operations for Taiwan enterprises. Recent initiatives focus on land-use guarantees for Taiwan-invested projects and specialized digital platforms for cross-strait tax services. These developments coincide with growing interest in mainland development opportunities among Taiwan businesses, particularly in advanced manufacturing and green energy sectors.
Analysts note these coordinated efforts demonstrate a commitment to institutional innovation and shared prosperity. As cross-strait economic exchanges intensify, stakeholders anticipate strengthened industrial resilience and new growth channels emerging from the dialogue.
