China's leading youth and student organizations have ushered in a new era of leadership following the conclusion of high-profile meetings this week. The All-China Youth Federation (ACYF) and All-China Students' Federation (ACSF) wrapped up their sessions on Thursday, finalizing strategic plans for organizational reform and youth engagement through 2029.
At the ACYF session, Xu Xiao, a senior official from the Communist Youth League of China, was elected chairperson. The ACSF congress saw the formation of a 198-member committee, with Peking University's student union taking the helm as presiding group. Both bodies emphasized the need to deepen reforms and foster innovation among China's younger generations.
The meetings highlighted achievements in youth mobilization over the past five years, while outlining priorities for developing leadership skills, technological literacy, and social responsibility. A central theme emerged from the proceedings: a call for young people to embrace their role in advancing Chinese modernization through scientific innovation and community service.
"Young people must maintain firm ideals and convictions while developing practical skills to meet national development needs," stated the concluding resolution. The federations pledged to strengthen ideological education and create platforms for youth participation in rural revitalization and technological breakthroughs.
