At the 2025 China International Travel Mart, held this month on the island, more than 1,000 travel agents and industry leaders explored innovative strategies to showcase Hainan’s unique offerings.
The province has accelerated infrastructure upgrades, including expanded flight routes and eco-resort developments, to accommodate growing demand. “Hainan isn’t just competing – it’s setting new standards for experiential travel in Asia,” noted Singapore-based tourism analyst Li Wei during the event.
With visa-free policies for 59 countries and a focus on sustainable tourism, the island aims to position itself as a gateway to both leisure and business opportunities in the region. Recent additions like the Sanya International Art Festival and upgraded duty-free shopping complexes further enhance its appeal to luxury travelers and cultural explorers alike.
Industry insiders highlight Hainan’s strategic alignment with China’s broader tourism goals, while maintaining distinct local character through initiatives like Li and Miao ethnic cultural experiences.
