The 7th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo kicked off in Dunhuang, Gansu Province on September 21, offering attendees an immersive journey into the rich diversity of China’s ethnic cultures. Among the highlights was a captivating performance by Kulimujian, a dancer from the Kazakh ethnic group in Jiuquan, Gansu Province, who, alongside her dancing partner, brought the traditional Kazakh dance “Heizouma” to life on stage.

The audience was enthralled as the dancers showcased the vibrant rhythms and intricate movements characteristic of “Heizouma,” reflecting the deep cultural heritage of the Kazakh people. The expo not only celebrated Kazakh traditions but also featured an array of performances from other ethnic groups, presenting songs, dances, and music played on traditional instruments.
