Chengdu Unveils Qilong Reclaimed Water Wetland Park, a Sustainable Urban Oasis

Chengdu, the vibrant capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, has unveiled its latest green initiative—the Qilong Reclaimed Water Wetland Park. Spanning approximately 128,000 square meters, this expansive park is now open to the public, offering a harmonious blend of natural beauty and innovative environmental technology.

As the largest man-made vertical-flow wetland park in the city, Qilong serves as a testament to Chengdu’s commitment to sustainable urban development. Visitors can explore a 2,900-meter walkway that meanders through lush plant life and tranquil water features, creating a serene escape from the bustling cityscape.

Beyond its recreational offerings, the park plays a crucial role in water purification. Beneath its scenic surface lies an advanced water treatment system capable of purifying 85,000 cubic meters of water per day. This underground network not only enhances the local ecosystem but also contributes significantly to the city’s environmental conservation efforts.

Residents and tourists alike are invited to experience the Qilong Reclaimed Water Wetland Park, where nature and technology unite to promote a sustainable future for Chengdu.
