Giant Rubber Duck Makes a Splash in Shenzhen Bay

Shenzhen Bay has welcomed an extraordinary new visitor—an inflatable giant rubber duck that has captured the hearts of residents and tourists alike. Stationed in Nanshan District, the enormous yellow duck has become an instant hit, drawing crowds eager to snap photos and experience the whimsical installation firsthand.
Created by renowned Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, the giant rubber duck is one of his most iconic works, symbolizing joy, childhood memories, and global connectivity. The sculpture will be prominently displayed at Shenzhen Talent Park from December 20, 2023, to January 20, 2024, alongside 11 other artworks by both Chinese and international artists. This event marks a significant cultural gathering, enhancing Shenzhen’s reputation as a vibrant hub for art and innovation.
The floating sculpture has previously toured several cities across China, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hangzhou, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, enchanting audiences with its playful presence. Its arrival in Shenzhen offers a unique opportunity for the public to engage with contemporary art in an open and accessible environment.
