The Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century in China, has once again captured global attention as the inaugural Liangzhu Forum commenced on Sunday in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
First unearthed in 1936, the Liangzhu site showcases a prehistoric rice-cultivating civilization that thrived between 3300 BC and 2300 BC. This ancient city is considered concrete evidence of China’s 5,000-year-old civilization, reflecting advanced urban planning and a complex social hierarchy.
