Xiaomi Unveils Next-Gen AI Agent micLaw, Redefining Smart Tech in 2026

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has announced limited internal testing of its groundbreaking AI interaction system, micLaw, positioning 2026 as the inaugural "year of AI agents" in the global tech race. The system, comparable to the widely discussed OpenClaw framework, marks a paradigm shift from conversational AI to autonomous task execution.

Unlike traditional AI tools reliant on real-time commands, micLaw operates as a system-level application capable of controlling device functions directly. With over 50 integrated capabilities—including text management, smart home control, and smartphone tool operation—it autonomously handles tasks like scheduling flight reminders by analyzing calendars, weather data, and commute times.

Leveraging Xiaomi’s IoT ecosystem of over one billion connected devices, micLaw can monitor and adjust smart home appliances, lighting, and security systems without manual input. This integration positions Xiaomi at the forefront of what industry experts call the "third stage of AI smartphone development."

Angel investor Guo Tao noted, "System-level agents like micLaw are redefining AI terminals, creating seamless interactions between users and their digital environments." As Chinese tech firms accelerate AI agent deployment, 2026 is set to become a pivotal year for smart technology innovation across Asia’s consumer markets.
