South Korea Suspends Chinese AI App DeepSeek Over Privacy Concerns

South Korea's data protection authority has temporarily suspended the domestic service of the Chinese AI app DeepSeek, effective since Saturday, according to Yonhap news agency. The suspension is a response to concerns regarding compliance with the country's stringent privacy laws.

The authority emphasized that DeepSeek will be allowed to resume its services once it implements the necessary improvements to align with South Korea's privacy regulations. This move highlights the ongoing efforts by South Korean authorities to safeguard user data and ensure that foreign applications adhere to local privacy standards.
