The 2024 World Science and Technology Development Forum (WSTDF), hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), is set to take place in Beijing from October 22 to 24.
Under the theme “Science and Technology for the Future,” the forum aims to provide an international platform for the deep integration of science and humanities. Global leaders in science, business, and education will gather to address global challenges such as climate change and energy crises.
Key events include six thematic sessions on topics like AI governance, interdisciplinary development, and open science infrastructure. Three roundtable discussions will focus on women in science, tech policy, and sustainable development.
This year’s forum will welcome over 120 international guests from 28 countries and regions, marking the most globally diverse participation in its history. Participants include Nobel and Turing Prize winners, leaders of international and national science organizations, prominent educators, and entrepreneurs, ensuring a rich and varied exchange of ideas.
As innovation increasingly relies on international collaboration and openness, the forum represents a significant milestone in global scientific cooperation. By fostering cross-disciplinary discussions, it aims to build consensus and create new collaborative frameworks to address global challenges and future-oriented issues.
Launched by the CAST in 2019, the WSTDF has been held annually for five years, promoting innovative solutions and contributing to sustainable development and the well-being of future generations.
