China Successfully Launches Gaofen-12 05 Satellite for Earth Observation

China successfully launched a new Earth observation satellite from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Wednesday morning.

The Long March-4C rocket, carrying the Gaofen-12 05 satellite, lifted off at 7:45 a.m. Beijing Time. The satellite has since entered its preset orbit, marking a significant advancement in the nation's Earth observation capabilities.

The Gaofen-12 05 satellite is set to play a crucial role in various fields, including land surveys, urban planning, land right confirmation, road network design, crop yield estimation, and disaster prevention and mitigation. Its advanced imaging technology is expected to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of data collection for these applications.

This launch represents the 540th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series, underscoring China's ongoing commitment to expanding its space exploration and satellite deployment programs. The success of this mission not only strengthens China's position in space technology but also contributes valuable data for global Earth observation efforts.
