China has successfully launched a new Earth observation satellite, the Gaofen-12 05, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China. The launch took place on Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. Beijing Time.
The Gaofen-12 05 satellite was carried into orbit by a Long March-4C rocket. After a smooth launch, the satellite has entered its preset orbit.
The satellite will be primarily used for land surveys, urban planning, land right confirmation, road network design, crop yield estimation, and disaster prevention and mitigation.
This successful launch marks the 540th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series, highlighting China’s ongoing advancements in space technology.
