Beijing, October 18 — China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) unveiled an ambitious plan on Wednesday to accelerate the development of the mobile Internet of Things (IoT) for “Intelligent Connectivity.” The initiative aims to bolster the nation’s supply, innovation capabilities, and industrial value in the burgeoning mobile IoT sector.

By the end of July this year, the number of mobile IoT connections in China neared 2.55 billion, accounting for 59 percent of the nation’s total mobile terminal connections, according to official data.
