Anhui Province, eastern China — In a significant move to enhance regional connectivity and promote tourism, Anhui has launched two new low-altitude tourist routes. The inaugural flights took off on Friday, linking the provincial capital Hefei with Wuhu and extending onwards to the renowned scenic city of Huangshan.
Travelers on the Hefei to Wuhu route can now experience breathtaking aerial views aboard a small Cessna 208B aircraft. Cruising at altitudes between 2,000 and 3,000 meters, the six-passenger aircraft offers an intimate journey over some of Anhui’s most iconic landmarks. Passengers are treated to stunning vistas of Luogang Central Park and the impressive Wuhu Yangtze River Bridge, providing a unique perspective on the province’s natural beauty and architectural feats.
The expansion of these routes is part of Anhui’s broader initiative to develop its low-altitude economy. During the 2024 Low-Altitude Economic Development Conference held in Wuhu, officials highlighted the province’s commitment to fostering growth in this sector. The conference showcased a range of low-altitude economic products and outlined ambitious plans to establish 30 exemplary low-altitude application scenarios across Anhui by 2025.
“The introduction of these routes marks a significant milestone in Anhui’s aviation tourism,” said a spokesperson at the conference. “We are eager to provide more diverse travel options and stimulate economic growth through the low-altitude economy.”
The new routes are expected to attract tourists, business professionals, and aviation enthusiasts alike, offering convenient travel and promoting Anhui’s cultural and natural attractions. As the province continues to invest in low-altitude aviation, it positions itself as a pioneer in integrating tourism with innovative economic development strategies.
