China’s AG600 Amphibious Aircraft Completes First Certification Flight Test

China’s AG600 large amphibious aircraft has successfully completed the first subject of its certification flight test, marking a significant milestone in its development. The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) announced on Saturday that the aircraft underwent an airspeed calibration test on Friday at a civil aircraft flight test center in Pucheng, Shaanxi Province.

Conducted by a flight-test crew from the Chinese civil aviation authority, the airspeed calibration is essential for ensuring the aircraft’s performance and safety. This test accurately measures and processes the parameters of the aircraft’s surrounding atmospheric environment during flight, making it a crucial step toward certification and operational readiness.

Developed by AVIC, China’s leading aircraft manufacturer, the AG600 is designed to enhance the country’s emergency rescue capabilities. The amphibious aircraft is tailored for a variety of rescue missions, including firefighting and maritime search and rescue, across diverse terrains throughout the nation.

The successful completion of this flight test subject brings the AG600 closer to entering service, where it will play a vital role in strengthening China’s ability to respond to emergencies and natural disasters.
