China has made a significant leap forward in the development of autonomous driving technology, with the Ministry of Public Security announcing that 16,000 test licenses for autonomous vehicles have been issued so far.
At a press conference held in Beijing on Tuesday, senior official Wang Qiang highlighted the progress made in supporting the autonomous driving industry. He revealed that 32,000 kilometers of roads across the nation have been opened for autonomous vehicle testing, providing a vast landscape for innovation and development.
“These initiatives have provided strong support for the advancement of autonomous driving technology in China,” Wang said.
He noted that the Ministry of Public Security has been working closely with other authorities, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Transport, to enhance management and support mechanisms for the autonomous driving sector.
The collaboration aims to foster a favorable environment for technological innovation and industrial growth, positioning China at the forefront of autonomous vehicle development.
