China’s Twin-Engine Transport Drone Soars in Successful Maiden Flight

On a bright Sunday morning, the skies over Zigong Fengming General Airport in southwest China’s Sichuan Province witnessed a historic moment as China’s large, twin-engine unmanned transport aircraft successfully completed its maiden flight.

The 20-minute test flight marked a significant milestone in China’s aviation industry, with all systems performing flawlessly, according to its developer.

Independently developed by Sichuan Tengden Sci-tech Innovation Co., Ltd., a leading domestic enterprise specializing in intelligent aerial vehicle research, manufacturing, and application, the aircraft is designed to meet the growing market demand for efficient air cargo transportation.

Boasting a wingspan of 16.1 meters and a height of 4.6 meters, the aircraft offers an impressive cargo space totaling 12 cubic meters and a commercial payload capacity of 2 tonnes.

With features that enable easy loading and unloading, high reliability and safety levels, and advanced intelligence systems, the aircraft is poised to revolutionize air cargo transportation. It is expected to support the expansion of the country’s cargo transportation scenarios and contribute to the development of a new type of smart logistics within the low-altitude economy.
