China’s CHN Energy Surpasses 100 Million Kilowatts in Clean Energy Capacity

In a remarkable stride towards a greener future, China’s state-owned CHN Energy Investment Group has announced that its new energy installed capacity has surpassed the 100 million kilowatt mark. This monumental achievement signifies a significant shift in the nation’s energy landscape, emphasizing its commitment to sustainable development.

By the end of June, CHN Energy reported a total new energy installed capacity of 100 million kilowatts. This includes 62.28 million kilowatts of wind power, securing its position as the global leader in wind energy capacity. Additionally, the company’s photovoltaic (solar) installed capacity soared to 42.13 million kilowatts, reflecting rapid growth in this sector.

The proportion of new energy in CHN Energy’s overall installed capacity has risen sharply from 21.6 percent in 2021 to 31.4 percent as of June this year. This upward trajectory highlights the company’s accelerated transition towards green and low-carbon energy sources.

CHN Energy’s milestone aligns with China’s broader environmental goals to peak carbon emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060. As one of the country’s energy giants, CHN Energy’s advancements in renewable energy play a crucial role in driving the nation towards these ambitious targets.

The company’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio not only supports China’s environmental objectives but also offers valuable insights and opportunities for global investors and businesses interested in the burgeoning Asian clean energy market. It underscores the growing importance of sustainable practices in shaping the future of energy both within the region and worldwide.
