Chinese commercial space company Galactic Energy has set a new domestic record by launching two rockets within three days. The latest launch, dubbed “Heroes,” took place on Friday at 7:39 a.m. Beijing time from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.
The CERES-1 Y12 carrier rocket successfully delivered five satellites into their planned twilight orbit at an altitude of 535 kilometers. This achievement comes just two days after Galactic Energy conducted a sea launch coded “Beautiful World,” showcasing the company’s rapidly advancing capabilities in the commercial space sector.
The consecutive launches mark a significant milestone for China’s burgeoning private space industry, highlighting the increasing competitiveness and innovation among Chinese commercial space companies. By achieving the shortest interval between two commercial launches by a private Chinese rocket company, Galactic Energy demonstrates its commitment to advancing space technology and contributing to global space exploration efforts.
These successful missions not only propel Galactic Energy to the forefront of China’s commercial aerospace sector but also signify a leap forward in the nation’s capacity for frequent and reliable satellite deployments. Such advancements are expected to foster greater opportunities in satellite communications, Earth observation, and other space-based services, benefiting various industries and enhancing China’s position in the global space economy.
