Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI is gearing up to build one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers by the fall of 2025, aiming to propel the next generation of its AI chatbot, Grok.
According to a recent report by The Information, Musk shared with investors that xAI plans to construct a supercomputer utilizing Nvidia’s flagship H100 graphics processing units (GPUs). The proposed system would comprise connected groups of these advanced chips, making it at least four times larger than the biggest GPU clusters currently in existence.
The ambitious project highlights xAI’s intention to establish itself as a formidable competitor in the rapidly evolving AI landscape, challenging established players like Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Alphabet’s Google.
