Elon Musk’s xAI to Release Enhanced Grok-1.5 Chatbot on X Next Week

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup, xAI, is set to roll out its enhanced chatbot, Grok-1.5, on the social media platform X next week. The announcement came from Musk himself in a post on X on Friday, signaling a significant step forward in his ambition to compete with leading AI entities like OpenAI and Google’s Alphabet.

“Grok 2 should exceed current AI on all metrics. In training now,” Musk added, hinting at even more advanced developments underway.

According to a statement from xAI on Thursday, Grok-1.5 will be made available to early testers and existing Grok users on X in the coming days. This move positions xAI to make a notable impact in the rapidly evolving AI chatbot landscape.

Earlier this month, Musk revealed plans to open-source Grok, following his legal action against OpenAI. The billionaire has accused the Microsoft-backed company of straying from its original mission by adopting a for-profit model, a shift he believes undermines the pursuit of safe and transparent AI development.

Musk, who co-founded OpenAI before parting ways in 2018, launched xAI last year with the aim of creating an alternative that aligns with his vision for AI. By integrating Grok-1.5 into X, formerly known as Twitter, he leverages his social media platform to expand the AI’s reach and gather valuable user interactions.

The release of Grok-1.5 marks a pivotal moment for xAI as it seeks to establish itself amidst fierce competition in the AI sector. With promises of superior performance and ongoing development of Grok 2, Musk’s ventures continue to draw global attention from investors, tech enthusiasts, and industry analysts.

As the AI race intensifies, xAI’s advancements could have significant implications for businesses and researchers interested in the latest developments in artificial intelligence technologies.
