Chengdu Hosts 11th China Internet Audio and Video Convention Showcasing AI and 5G Innovations
The city of Chengdu in southwest China’s Sichuan Province became a hub of technological innovation as it hosted the 11th China Internet Audio and Video Convention, which opened on Thursday. The three-day event brought together industry leaders and enterprises to showcase advancements in 5G+8K, 3D technologies, cloud gaming, and artificial intelligence.
Focusing on innovation and industrial upgrades, the convention highlighted the role of intelligent internet audio and video in empowering economic growth and promoting cultural development in China. “Intelligent internet audio and video has become a new quality productive force, serving Chinese modernization,” said Hu Zhengrong, head of the Institute of Journalism & Communication at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, during the opening ceremony.
Artificial intelligence was a key topic at the event, with experts discussing its impact on content creation and consumption. Shen Yang, a professor at Tsinghua University, described the current era as one where people can “produce high knowledge with zero knowledge” due to AI advancements. He noted that AI-generated content (AIGC), particularly short videos, is bringing new aesthetic, social, and emotional values to audiences.
“In the future, we will see an increasing number of AIGC videos,” Shen predicted. “AI assistants will become new partners for humans in transforming the world.”
The convention, co-hosted by China’s National Radio and Television Administration and the Sichuan provincial government, served as a platform for enterprises to display their latest technologies and discuss the future of the internet audio and video industry. With the rapid development of AI and 5G technologies, the event underscored China’s commitment to innovation and its influence on the global tech landscape.
