Chongqing-based ZXMOTO has etched its name in motorsport history by securing back-to-back wins in the World Supersport (WorldSSP) category at Portugal's FIM Superbike World Championship round. French rider Valentin Debise piloted the ZXMOTO 820RR-RS to victory in both races last weekend, marking the first time a Chinese motorcycle brand has triumphed in a WorldSBK event.
Founder Zhang Xue attributed the success to technical superiority: "Our bike combines the highest horsepower, lightest weight, and lowest center of gravity in its class. This isn't accidental – it's the result of relentless innovation." The 39-year-old entrepreneur revealed he dedicates over 16 hours daily to motorcycle development, equating his 20-year career to four decades of conventional work.
The victories signal China's growing competitiveness in high-performance manufacturing. While celebrating the milestone, Zhang remains focused on improvement: "We've identified areas like launch acceleration where we can still evolve. Solutions are already in development."
This breakthrough comes as Asian manufacturers increasingly challenge European dominance in motorsports, offering new opportunities for investors and technology partners eyeing China's advanced manufacturing sector.
