China’s Guo Muye Secures Double Gold at 2026 Artistic Swimming World Cup

Chinese athlete Guo Muye cemented his dominance in artistic swimming by claiming his second gold medal at the 2026 World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup in Paris on March 29. The 17-year-old, who previously won the men's solo technical event, triumphed in the solo free final with a score of 259.4950 points through a high-difficulty routine inspired by the video game "Black Myth: Wukong."

Guo's performance showcased enhanced technical complexity compared to his 2025 World Championships silver-winning routine, reflecting rigorous winter training with China's national team. Judges praised his improved execution precision and physical endurance, key factors in his success against competitors like Britain's Ranjuo Tomblin and Kazakhstan's Viktor Druzin, who took silver and bronze respectively.

"Elevating the difficulty level this season required intense preparation," Guo told reporters. "The national team's training regimen has been instrumental in developing both my technical skills and stamina." His back-to-back victories highlight China's growing influence in this evolving Olympic discipline.
