German bobsleigh star Laura Nolte, who made history as the youngest Olympic champion in her sport at the 2022 Beijing Winter Games, is preparing to defend her title at the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Now 24, Nolte recently shared her ambitions with CGTN's Dan Williams, revealing plans to pursue two gold medals in Italy this year.
Reflecting on her Beijing triumph, Nolte said: "It was such a cool moment… I showed that age isn't a limit. You can win young, you can win old." The athlete and pilot has maintained her partnership with brakewoman Deborah Levi since 2018, their teamwork yielding multiple international victories.
Despite bobsleigh's inherent risks – Nolte acknowledges "many crashes" throughout her career – she credits the sport for sharpening her focus. As training intensifies ahead of February's competition, all eyes will be on this dynamic duo aiming to rewrite Olympic history books.
