China Media Group (CMG) is set to revolutionize coverage of the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics with its cutting-edge broadcast technology, including the ultra-high-speed 'Lie Bao' ('Cheetah') camera system. First deployed at the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, the self-developed 4K camera can track athletes at speeds exceeding 90 km/h, capturing split-second details from skate blades to facial expressions.

CMG engineer Liu Huixu confirmed the deployment of 17 specialized devices for speed skating events, including trackless remote-controlled cameras and miniaturized systems. 'These tools ensure viewers don’t miss a single moment of the action,' Liu said, emphasizing the blend of innovation and precision.

Notably, CMG will lead global 8K broadcast production for the opening and closing ceremonies while handling figure skating and short track speed skating signals for the first time. This marks a milestone in Asia’s growing influence in sports media technology, offering audiences unprecedented clarity and immersion.
