China Media Group (CMG) has mobilized nearly 500 media professionals to Italy for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, marking one of the largest international broadcast deployments in recent years. The team departed Beijing this week following a ceremonial send-off, with advanced broadcasting equipment already operational at key venues.
For the first time, CMG will produce international public signals for figure skating and short track speed skating events, while maintaining its role as the exclusive 8K broadcast provider for opening and closing ceremonies. The organization's cutting-edge 'China Red' 4K/8K broadcasting vehicles, positioned at Milan's San Siro Stadium since January 13, are now undergoing final technical checks.
Three International Broadcast Center studios and an innovative mountain studio in Livigno near completion, showcasing China's growing technical leadership in global sports broadcasting. These facilities will enable real-time multilingual coverage reaching audiences across Asia and worldwide.
This deployment underscores deepening cultural exchanges through major international events, with CMG's participation expected to enhance viewing experiences for billions while demonstrating Chinese media's technological advancements in ultra-high-definition broadcasting.
