China Media Group (CMG) has positioned its cutting-edge 4K and 8K broadcast fleet at Milan's iconic San Siro Stadium, marking a critical milestone in preparations for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. With the opening ceremony scheduled for February 6, the deployment signals the start of operational broadcasting activities following months of technical planning.
The fleet, which previously delivered groundbreaking coverage of the 2024 Paris Summer Games, completed its journey through Italy's western coast after clearing customs at the Port of Livorno. Security teams guided the vehicles to their designated operational zones, where technicians will soon begin testing systems for the Games' most anticipated events.
This year's Winter Olympics will feature CMG's 8K international broadcast signals for both opening/closing ceremonies and marquee competitions, setting new standards for winter sports viewing. The technical deployment comes as Milan prepares to welcome athletes from over 90 National Olympic Committees to the first Winter Games hosted in Italy since 2006.
