Historic Records Shattered at China’s 2025 National Para Games

Athletes redefined excellence on the final day of track and field events at China's 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and 9th National Special Olympic Games, with 50 gold medals awarded and multiple national records broken on December 15, 2025.

Sichuan's Yang Chunhua dominated the women's 10,000-meter hearing-impaired final, setting a new national record of 36:56.28. Zhejiang's Xu Kuantian mirrored this achievement in the men's equivalent event, clocking 29:57.35 to rewrite the history books.

Guangxi sprinter Liu Cuiqing emerged as one of the event's brightest stars, completing a historic quadruple gold haul. After victories in the T11 100m, 200m, and 400m finals, she anchored her team to victory in the T11 mixed 4×100m relay with a record-breaking 47.78-second finish.

The games have showcased remarkable athletic prowess while highlighting China's ongoing commitment to inclusive sports development. This year's event has set new benchmarks for para-athletics, with organizers noting a 15% increase in participation compared to previous editions.
