China Media Group (CMG) has positioned its state-of-the-art 4K/8K ultra-high-definition broadcast fleet at the Chengdu Eastern New City Sports Park, ready to deliver stunning visuals for the 2025 World Games opening ceremony this Thursday. Dubbed the "Chinese Red" road fleet, the deployment marks one of Asia's most ambitious live production efforts for an international sporting event.
The specialized convoy – featuring a 4K/8K UHD broadcast van, audio support truck, satellite uplink truck, and auxiliary equipment vehicle – completed its 2,000-km journey from Beijing to Sichuan Province last week. A 120-member technical team with experience from events including the Beijing Winter Olympics will operate the systems.
"This deployment demonstrates China's leadership in broadcast innovation," said a CMG spokesperson, noting the equipment can process 16 times more visual data than standard HD formats. The technology will showcase Chengdu's modern skyline and the games' cultural performances in unprecedented detail to global audiences.
The World Games, featuring 35 non-Olympic sports, comes as Sichuan Province strengthens its position as China's southwestern economic hub. Over 5,000 athletes from 100+ countries and regions are expected to participate.
