The 2025 World Games torch relay commenced on Saturday in southwest China's Sichuan Province, marking the start of a journey blending sportsmanship with regional cultural heritage. Rhythmic gymnast Huang Zhangjiayang, who led China to its first Olympic group all-around gold medal at the 2024 Paris Games, initiated the relay. Over 100 torchbearers will carry the flame through Chengdu, Deyang, and Meishan—cities representing Sichuan's technological innovation, industrial growth, and agricultural traditions.
