Iga Swiatek Makes History with Stunning Wimbledon Victory

Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek cemented her legacy as one of tennis' greatest competitors with a jaw-dropping 6-0, 6-0 victory over American Amanda Anisimova in Saturday's Wimbledon final – the first women's championship match at the All England Club in 114 years where one player failed to win a single game.

Under the watchful eyes of Kate, Princess of Wales, Swiatek completed her career Grand Slam in ruthless fashion, needing just 57 minutes to claim her first Wimbledon title. The world No. 1 now boasts a perfect 6-0 record in major finals.

"It seems super surreal," said the 24-year-old champion, who previously struggled on grass courts. "I didn't even dream of this because it felt way too far."

Anisimova, competing in her first Grand Slam final at 23, admitted to being "a bit frozen" by nerves and physical strain. The American skipped practice Friday due to fatigue and experienced shoulder pain during warm-ups.

The historic double-bagel result – last seen in a 1911 Wimbledon final – highlights Swiatek's growing dominance in women's tennis. Her victory adds Wimbledon to previous French Open and US Open triumphs, making her the youngest player to complete the career Grand Slam since Serena Williams.
