China Dominates ISSF World Cup with Gold and Silver in Mixed Team Events

Chinese shooters showcased their prowess at the ISSF World Cup in Munich, securing gold and silver medals in mixed team events as the competition concluded Saturday. The results reinforce China's growing dominance in precision sports ahead of the next World Cup leg in Ningbo this September.

Hu Kai and Yao Qianxun delivered a masterclass in the 10-meter air pistol final, defeating Armenia's team 16-4 with a blistering start that saw them take an 8-0 lead. This marks Hu's fourth World Cup gold this season, continuing his unbeaten streak in individual events.

In a dramatic 10-meter air rifle showdown, world record holders Wang Zifei (18) and Sheng Lihao set a new qualification world record of 635.9 points before narrowly missing gold to India's Arya Borse and Arjun Babuta. The young Chinese pair's 17-7 final score belied their earlier record-breaking performance, with Wang maintaining her unbeaten World Cup run in individual events this season.

China leads the medal tally with four golds, while Norway and India follow closely. The competition's mixed team format – introduced to promote gender equality in shooting sports – has become a key battleground for Asian marksmanship talent.

All eyes now turn to Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, where the next World Cup rifle and pistol event will test athletes' preparations for upcoming international championships.
