Olympic champion Sheng Lihao secured bronze in the men's 10-meter air rifle event at the ISSF World Cup in Munich on Thursday, adding to China's growing medal tally in the 2025 shooting season. The 23-year-old, who previously won gold in Lima this April, dominated the qualification round with 635.3 points before facing fierce competition in the final.

Russian shooter Ilia Marsov clinched gold with a clutch final-round performance, scoring 252.3 points overall. Norway's Jon-Hermann Hegg edged out Sheng by 0.9 points for silver in a dramatic elimination-stage showdown, leaving the Chinese marksman with 230.2 points.

In parallel events, Norway's Jeanette Hegg Duestad won gold in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions final, while China's Miao Wanru placed fifth. The results solidify China's lead in the tournament standings with three golds and one bronze, followed by Norway with two golds and one silver.

The Munich World Cup continues Friday with finals in women's 10m air pistol and men's 25m rapid fire pistol, offering new opportunities for athletes to test their skills ahead of major international competitions.
