The draw for the 2023 ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals in Doha has set the stage for electrifying matches, with Chinese stars positioned for potential showdowns against global rivals. The tournament, starting May 17, will feature intense competition across singles, doubles, and mixed events.

Men's Singles: Battle of Generations

Top-seeded Lin Shidong faces Spain's Alvaro Robles in his opener, while teammate Liang Jingkun takes on Egypt's Omar Assar. The upper half also includes Brazil's Hugo Calderano and France's Felix LeBrun, promising a gauntlet of challenges. In the lower half, second-seeded Wang Chuqin could clash with Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto and Sweden's Truls Moregard.

Women's Singles: Asian Dominance

World No. 1 Sun Yingsha shares her bracket with compatriot Wang Yidi and Japanese stars Mima Ito and Satsuki Odo. The opposite half features China's Wang Manyu and Chen Xingtong against rising Japanese talents Miwa Harimoto and Hina Hayata.

Doubles Drama Unfolds

In women's doubles, China's Qian Tianyi/Chen may face Japan's top-seeded Odo/Yokoi in a semifinal thriller. Men's doubles sees two Chinese pairs competing in the same bracket, while mixed doubles pair Lin Shidong/Kuai Man potentially faces Hong Kong's Wong Chun Ting/Doo Hoi Kem early.
