Chinese athletes reaffirmed their diving supremacy by clinching gold in the mixed 3-meter & 10-meter team event at the World Aquatics Diving World Cup in Windsor, Canada, on Friday. The quartet of Wang Zongyuan, Chen Yuxi, Chen Yiwen, and Cheng Zilong delivered a masterclass performance, amassing 478.80 points to secure victory ahead of Mexico (412.70) and Italy (402.75).
Building on their April win in Guadalajara, Mexico, the team showcased seamless coordination. Paris Olympic champion Chen Yiwen set the tone with a 76.50-point opener from the 3m springboard, followed by Wang Zongyuan’s commanding 89.25-point contribution. The duo of Chen Yiwen and Cheng Zilong later added 72 synchronized points in the second round.
Chen Yuxi electrified the 10m platform segment with a near-flawless 90.75-point dive, while Cheng Zilong rallied to close with an 80-point synchronized effort alongside Chen Yuxi. Despite a mid-event stumble by Cheng Zilong (70.30 points), China’s collective prowess proved insurmountable.
The victory underscores China’s enduring dominance in aquatic sports as athletes prepare for upcoming international competitions. The win also highlights the team’s ability to adapt to dynamic event formats combining springboard and platform disciplines.
